Select a Nutrition Program
The Lewis School of Nursing and Health Professions offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition Science. The program: provides a strong foundation for those interested in positions in applied sciences or for those pursuing pre-professional (medical, dental, occupational therapy, speech pathology, and dietetics) studies. After completing the core requirements, students take courses in physiology, and nutrition (required for the major) and may take additional courses in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, and physics.
The Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) will close on May 31, 2017, therefore the Department of Nutrition no longer accepts students into the DPD program. Students who do not complete their DPD course requirements by May 31, 2017 will not be considered graduates of an ACEND accredited DPD. The undergraduate degree offered by the Department of Nutrition will be a Nutrition Science degree and future undergraduate students may declare a major in this program beginning Fall semester 2016.
